Short films from inside the system we built, on real projects.
KORA NESTING · Cut less, proven
From the Trimble model to a cutting plan, an order list and "Ordered" in the model. For each profile the engine proves that less steel cannot be bought. Built for Chen Metals.
Text description of the film
The film has no narration, only music. Everything it says is on screen text, in this order:
A steel beam in the dark. 886 parts, 15 profiles, 6 and 12 metre bars. How do you cut without throwing money away?
Steel offcuts falling into a bin: every centimetre thrown away is money.
A tired engineer at his desk: hours of Excel and hand calculations, and still no certainty it is the best plan.
The KORA NESTING logo: nesting reports inside KORA.
Step 1, in the project, the Trimble tab: nesting reports straight from the model, nothing to export.
Step 2, a new nesting run: every run is saved in the project with its reports.
Step 3, set everything on one screen: what to run, profiles, 12 and 6 metre bars, stock in the shop, saw kerf and which reports.
15.6 seconds, 886 parts placed. Every profile, every bar, every part with its own mark.
Step 4, the result: 886 parts, 1,386 metres to buy, 6.7% waste, 14 of 15 profiles at a proven minimum. Shown: real bars from a run of project 4204 with a 3 mm saw kerf, 28.95 tonnes to buy.
Step 5, six reports in one click, ready to print, for the shop and for suppliers: order list, cutting plan, graphic cutting plan, summary, offcuts created and Excel.
Per profile detail: what to order, how much waste, and whether buying less is possible at all.
Step 6, request for quotation: pick suppliers, and each one gets its own link with the full material list, lengths and weights.
Step 7, mark as ordered: what was ordered does not enter the next order. And it is already in Trimble: "Ordered" with the date, on every part in the model.
Step 8, partners see it too: Chen Metals, in the partner portal, sees the same numbers and the same reports.
A saw cutting steel: a 3 mm saw kerf is accounted for, every cut is exact.
A crane loading bars on a truck: order only what you need. No surplus, no needless waste, no guessing.
A steel frame at sunset: nesting that cuts waste, not just steel. KORA NESTING by BIM TEAM.

Mark it in the model, get the report, issue the bill. A status for every assembly, an exceptions check, a weekly report and a bill from the model. By BIM TEAM Projects.
Text description of the film
The film has no narration, only music. Everything it says is on screen text, in this order:
A construction site at dusk: 8 stages, thousands of assemblies. Where does the project really stand?
A welder at work: what was fabricated? What was shipped? What was erected?
The KORA and Trimble Connect logos: the management layer above Trimble.
Work from the model: select in the model, mark a status with a date, and see the count before saving.
From red to green, on the model itself. Furthest stage: every assembly takes the colour of the furthest stage it has passed, erection in green.
Colour by date: a colour for each month, so the pace of work shows on the model.
The system finds mistakes by itself: a skipped stage, done without a date, dates out of order. The "Highlight" button lights them up in the model.
All stages, one report: how much was done at each stage, in tonnes and percent, to PDF or Excel in one click.
Sunday, 07:00, the report is already with you. Emailed reports: pick stages, day and time, PDF or Excel and recipients, and it goes out by itself.
All of this in KORA too: a Trimble tab in every project, nine screens, exactly the same numbers.
A bill from the model: what was done with a date goes into the bill, no Excel and no retyping. Three real bills were reproduced in testing, to the agora.
Approve a thousand drawings in one click: transmittals, revisions to the model and GA, and a signed approval certificate.
Cut less, proven: nesting straight from the model, with a proven minimum for every profile.
A project with hundreds of thousands of objects: before, three minutes and the tab had not loaded. After, it opens in about 4 seconds. 329,561 objects, the main model only.
A steel truck and a crane on site: mark it in the model, get the report, issue the bill.
A steel structure lit at night: the model knows where the project stands. Now so do you.
